Hey Marisa! The reason I started a new topic here instead of responding to your last post in "Summer Trips Anyone?" was that it seems like once the page turns here, people seem to forget about the older posts, and I want you to read this. I just want you to know that I actually did not have a problem with anything you said in your previous post about Las Vegas, nor did I think of it as a pot shot. I just thought I would write a novel, and entertain you a little - jk/lol! You have every reason to be as selfish and defensive about New York as you are. Your state and our great country changed forever on 911, and it hurts me to remember the tragic events on that day. What I said about the city of Las Vegas belonging to Mexico is just about true, as like many other states, we seem to have quite an influx of the Spanihs speaking population. But it doesn't stop there! We have one of the most racially cultured cities in the country. Sometimes, depending upon where I am going in our city, I really don't know which language to speak.
I also want to thank you for the compliment you paid to me about the way I wrote that, and I really didn't mean for it to be as long as it was. History and Geography are my favorite subjects in school, and it always pays to know a little about the state you live in. Our city changes almost on a monthly basis, and sometimes it's hard to keep up with all of it, and there are several things I do not know about Las Vegas. I would also like you to know that I do think you are a very intelligent person, and I respect a lot of your opinions on certain topics. There are only a handfull of people on this board who can carry on an intelligent discussion with you on some of the topics you choose to take on. When I do agree with you on certain topics, I am doing that because that is either my opinion, or very close to it. Also thanks for saying I should take on a career in social work, as opposed to politics, because I really don't think I would make a very good politician. I haven't exactly chosen which career I am going to pursue as of yet, but for right now I am heavily involved in racing, and I think I will stay there since I am doing well at it.
Almost forgot (so I edited this) I'm sure you have seen the movie Casino, which was a really factual movie about Las Vegas in it's earlier days. If you remember Joe Pesci's Lawyer (Oscar) in the movie. In real life that is our Mayor Oscar Goodman. He is the infamous Mob Lawyer, or as some call him, "The Mouth Piece To The Mob" Oscar was chosen to portray himself in the movie because the producers wanted it to be as factual as possible. But I do think The Terminator would make an excellent Governor for the state of California, actually, send him to Vegas. Anyway, I work in the office with our race team, and I am gifted with having to work on this great holiday, so I have to get ready for some real politics today.
