one word....WOW! my goodness Haley has grown up and I'm glad to report that his acting has matured as well.
I went in to see the movie a litle skeptical b/c of some of the reviews that I had read. To my surprise the theater was packed! And the audience seemed to love the movie...lots of laughter,some tears, and even applause at the end. Now I've only been in 3 movie where people appluaded at the end:
1. Sweet Hom Alabama ( hey I'm from the south what do you expect)
2. Seabiscuit(great movie)
3. Secondhand Lions
See those critics dont know anything!!
Micheal Caine and Robert Duvall were great! They had the "grumpy old men thing" matered to the tee. They provided a lot of the comic relief in this movie.
BUT I'm sure you all really want to know how Haley's performance was......well it was excellent! He has great comedic timing in this film. And he still is very dramatic at the same time. It's so weird to go from Forrest Gump to this. He was a cute kid now he's a good looking teenager. (this is the teen girl in me coming out) IN one part in the movie , Haley wore this blue t-shirt, o my gosh it was perfect. It brought out the blue in his eyes and made his hair look so blonde. hehe Back to the point. In my opinion Haley did a great job and this could very well be his comeback movie.
I'm not gonna tell you plot details b/c you will just have to go see it for yourself then. I'll probably go see it again in 2 weeks when the LOTR trailer is with it. Not the best movie ever but definately up ther....4 out of 5 stars.....haha I feel so special when I say that
