Thanks for the post!
We get a fair amount of rain here, but this year we have had far more than usual. Rain has it's good points. Without it we would have drought, and that's not good.
We had a monster rainstorm Sunday, and I got several inches of rain in my basement. A friend came over with a sump pump and pumped most of the water out, but I still had a massive cleanup job to do.
While we are on the subject of rain, I remember on old "Outer Limits" TV show (science fiction) where a spaceship was invaded by aggressive alien plants, and when the ship landed on Earth, the plants got out and started to rapidly spread all over, and were apparently about to kill everyon on Earth. Fortunately, a thunderstorm came along and the rain killed the alien plants!
The tag line of the show was something like this: "There are evil things in the universe, but there are also gentle things, like rain." I thought that was cool.
"Believe, when you are most unhappy, that there is something for you to do in the world. So long as you can sweeten another's pain, life is not in vain."--Helen Keller
