I'm new to this site and noticed your posting. I've been researching sites for parents of child actors and stumbled across this one. It doesn't seem to be very popular and this may be the reason for the lack of updated information. It could be that My Space is frequented a lot more often. However, in this industry there is so much competition that the actors who are most diligent are the ones who succeed more quickly. Everywhere one can "advertise" one should "advertise".
Yes, a publicist's job includes getting their clients' names/faces/info "out there" but it's best for actors to post on websites (such as these) themselves. Since publicists can cost a lot of money, they should be using their time and efforts getting their clients in magazine articles, invited to parties, and other ways to help the actors that aren't possible for their talent to do themselves.
Personally, nothing against publicists (they can do a LOT for artists who are already working), but maybe the money should be spent on educating the actors so they are at the top of their game. THEN when they're booking, the "posse" would come in handier.
Best of luck,
